Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Clarion Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 29 051 722 877) ("Clarion") provides the following additional warranty in relation to its car TV and multimedia systems, car audio systems, rearview monitor systems and bus audio systems ("Products").
The benefits of this warranty are in addition to any rights and remedies imposed by Australian State and Federal legislation that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this warranty is to be interpreted as excluding, restricting or modifying any State or Federal legislation applicable to the supply of goods and services which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.
Clarion warrants that its Products sold in Australia are warranted against defects in material and/or workmanship for a period of 12 months from the original Date of Sale. (An extended 3 year warranty applies to certain product categories when those products are registered by the customer in accordance with the terms and conditions of the 3 year warranty within 28 days of purchase.)The conditions of this warranty and the extent of the responsibly of Clarion Australia under this warranty are as follows:
This warranty is not transferable to a subsequent customer if the Product is sold by the original customer during the warranty period.
If a defect appears in Clarion's manufacture or assembly of the Product before the end of the warranty period and Clarion finds the Product to be defective in materials or workmanship, Clarion will, in its sole discretion, either:
- replace or repair the Product or the defective part of the Product free of charge; or
- cause the Product or the defective part of the Product to be replaced or repaired by an Authorised Clarion Service Agent free of charge.
Clarion reserves the right to replace defective parts of the Product with parts and components of similar quality, grade and composition where an identical part or component is not available.
Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the goods.
If a fault covered by warranty occurs, the customer must first contact Clarion at the contact address listed below, or an Authorised Clarion Service Agent.
An Authorised Clarion Service Agent may have its own Policy and Conditions for making a warranty claim. If the customer is making a claim to an Authorised Clarion Service Agent, the customer must follow these Policies and Conditions.
The customer must make the Product available to Clarion or its Authorised Clarion Service Agent for inspection and testing. If such inspection and testing finds no defect in the Product, the customer must pay Clarion or the Authorised Clarion Service Agent the usual costs of service work and testing.
The customer must bear the cost of the transport of the Product to and from Clarion or the Authorised Clarion Service Agent to make the warranty claim, and all insurance of the Product.
This warranty does not cover:
- the Product has been subjected to misuse, neglect, abuse, or accident;
- the Product has had the serial number altered, defected or removed; or
- the Product has been connected, installed, adjusted, or repaired other than in accordance with instructions furnished by Clarion.
This warranty does not cover:
- the elimination of static or other electrical interference external to the audio systems;
- tape head & laser cleaning;
- removal and re-installation costs;
- removal of and repair of damage caused by foreign substances; or
- transit damage where Clarion's approved packaging or nominated carrier have not been used..
Clarion will not be responsible for any costs associated with repairs that are not performed by the Clarion Service Department or an Authorised Clarion Service Agent.
Clarion makes no express warranties or representations other than set out in this warranty.
The repair or replacement of the Product or part of the Product is the absolute limit of Clarion liability under this express warranty.
