What began with the MAP 360 and MAP 560 is now being continued with two new navigation talents from Clarion. The decades of Clarion’s know-how in the navigation sector are evident in both new portable navigation systems MAP 670 and MAP 770. Both systems offer a high-resolution 4.3” touch screen display in their ultra-compact enclosures; they are not only used for navigation but also to control numerous entertainment possibilities.

The navigation data are stored in the internal memory. While the map material from 31 countries is stored on the MAP 770’s 2 GB memory, the MAP 670 concentrates on regional navigation with map material from 2 to 6 countries and Europe’s capital cities. Map material for Germany, for example, includes the countries Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. To avoid traffic hold-ups, a TMC tuner for traffic news is integrated. The route calculation is extremely fast. If desired, it can warn you if you exceed the speed limit or if there are speed cameras.

In addition to their navigation possibilities, both devices also offer a full-range multimedia system which is loaded using the integrated SD/MMC card slot. It is possible to play MP3 or WMA files or, with the help of the integrated Picture Viewers, to look at the newest holiday pictures on the high-resolution screen.

Using Bluetooth, the system can also be used as a hands-free set. The microphone is already integrated into the device. The software can be updated using a USB port.
