Clarion offers new Marine head-units with enhanced design

Products integrate audio, video and navigation into one interface

Cypress, Calif., (January 6, 2007) – Clarion Corporation of America (Clarion), a global leader of mobile electronics entertainment systems, introduces three new Marine head-units with audio upgrades for marine enthusiasts. Clarion’s new Marine line features enhanced capabilities and updated designs.

“Our new marine head-units mirror our automotive models for unmatched features and aesthetics,” said Ralph Dominguez, senior product planning manager, Clarion Corporation of America. “Consumers can now experience Clarion quality on the water with our new Marine head-units.”

Clarion is introducing three newly designed marine head-units for 2007. All three head-units feature MP3 and WMA playback, rotary volume knob, auxiliary inputs and marine cosmetics. All Clarion Marine head units have had their circuit boards conformally coated designed specifically to protect electronic components being used in harsh environments. Clarion marine head-units also have specially coated circuit boards to resist mold, mildew, and moisture damage. Clarion’s CD mechanisms minimize mistracking without resorting to buffer circuits, which add distortion and degrade sound quality.

The new M275 is a 1-DIN AM/FM CD source unit with front aux input and integrated flip cover. The new M475 features a CeNET bus interface for a CD changer or other peripherals and wired remote capabilities. This unit is Bluetooth, iPod and satellite ready for Sirius or XM.

With a new unique custom marine design for 2007, Clarion’s new CMD5 is a 1-DIN chassis with oversized face. It features a sealed waterproof flip-down front face with rubberized large rotary volume knob and buttons. The CMD5 includes a large two-line display and features instant station recall, and a direct access button for easy iPod access. The CMD5 allows for operation with either a wired or wireless remote control.

Clarion’s new Marine head-units will be available in time for the summer.
